Renting Property - Tenant Guidelines
  • Both landlord and tenant must sign a written rental agreement specifying rent amount, payment schedule, and duration.

  • Security deposits should be reasonable and refundable unless used for damage repair.

  • Any maintenance responsibilities should be clearly mentioned in the agreement.

  • The landlord must give prior notice before entering the rented premises.

  • Tenants are prohibited from sub-letting without written permission from the landlord.

  • Rental agreements longer than 11 months must be registered under Uttar Pradesh tenancy laws.

  • Rent increases must follow the agreed terms and comply with state laws.

  • Any property damage must be reported immediately to the landlord.

  • Utilities should be paid as per the agreement terms.

  • Tenants must return the property in good condition after the lease ends.

  • The landlord can evict a tenant for non-payment of rent as per legal process.

  • Illegal activities on rented property are strictly prohibited.
